Vessël (INTIMÄT)
"Vessel" embodies the idea that humans—especially artists—are conduits for a universal flow of energy, allowing music and the vastness of space to flow through without the interference of ego or identity. It speaks to the art of letting go, honoring creation as something boundless and unboxed—ever-expanding like the universe itself.
Colombian-born Vessël A.K.A Fiat Luxx (Camilo Ruiz) has spent many years venturing out into the far fringes of music and art to find what might lie in store.
Vessël’s pursuits have always stemmed from the same intent: to push the limits of creative expression. His mission, more than ever, is to intentionally and relentlessly cast away all inhibitions that may limit his full artistic expression. He acts, almost without pretense. Each of his eclectic selections sends subtle ripples through the counterculture zeitgeist, with more and more settings across the globe serving as his stage. Such a philosophy is not limited to his music career. Over the years, his willingness to prepare in advance so that he can confidently go off script has come to enrich all of his endeavors.
He makes each selection not only for the room and occasion, but his own position in space and time — as he studies each tastefully Avant-Garde track in his repertoire well enough to improvise on the fly. Genres and tempos do not pose as limitations to his artistry. His musical gamut can include anything from blues to acid house, deep techno, drum and bass to obscure sounds from every corner of the world. His performances are meant to be experienced in person to grasp his genuine reverence for the craft.
Timing has been everything, whether Vessël has acted as a disc jockey, venue owner, event curator, or designer in a given context. No matter the medium, he’s patiently shown restraint, calculating the ideal moment to take each creative risk. His approach has manifested in vibrant, creative, iconic spaces such as EKŌ House (Denver), the INTIMÄT Basement (Denver), and his upcoming project ‘Casagradable” in Galicia, Spain. Over the years, he has shared the stage with world-renowned artists such as Adriatique, Akufen, Alan Fitzpatrick, Amotik, Benjamin Damage, Edu Imbernon, Efdemin, Chris Liebing, Christian Smith, Drumcell, Frankie Bones, Fur Coat, DJ Hyperactive, John Acquaviva, Magda, DJ Minx, Quiver, Roger Sanchez, Sarah Sommers, SIAN, Truncate, Wehbba, Woody92, and others.
There’s no roadmap, no mold, no set of unchanging rules that defines Vessël’s growing body of work. Nothing is static. Everything stays in motion. Only with this mindset can he continue to defy expectations.
